Graduation Requirements

Students of American Heritage School, including students taking distance education courses, may receive an accredited diploma and transcript, and may participate in AHS Graduation.

High School Diploma
In order to receive a diploma from American Heritage School, a student must complete the following:

  1. Email the Director of Distance Education, Leland Anderson ([email protected]). In the email, provide your complete name, contact information (phone numbers, addresses, email addresses), a statement that you would like to prepare to graduate from American Heritage School, and your intended graduation date. You will also need to submit any transcripts from any other high schools you have attended. The Director of Distance Education will enroll you in a Diploma Tracker that will show your progress toward a diploma.
  2. Earn 27 credits according to the high school graduation requirements listed below.
  3. A minimum of 7 credits must be taken from American Heritage School, and at least 6 of those must be earned during the 12 months preceding graduation.

Transcripts
All students who take courses from American Heritage School may request a transcript for themselves or for another educational institution.

One transcript per student will be provided free of charge. Additional copies will cost $2.00, payable by check or credit card to American Heritage School.

Transcript requests must include a Request for Transcripts form (pdf form). Therefore, requests and payment will not be taken over the phone. This request form and payment information or check must be faxed to 801-642-0060 or mailed to:

Graduation
Distance Education students may participate in AHS graduation ceremonies. To participate in AHS graduation, a student must be enrolled in the Diploma Tracker program (see High School Diploma section above), must complete the graduation requirement list above before graduation (end of May each year), must be a student in good standing, and must contact the Director of Distance Education by May 1 to ensure eligibility and make arrangements.
