Auditions

A limited number of auditions for the 2011 season will take place on Wednesday, January 5th from 3:30-5:00 p.m. at the American Heritage School (736 North 1100 East, American Fork). Click here to schedule an audition time or call Rob at (801) 372-9465.

The Choirs

    Concert Choir

• Ages 9-18
• Entrance by audition only
• Rehearsals held on Mondays from 3:30-4:45 p.m.
• Quarterly performances, including a mandatory tour in the Spring (see " Tour 2011 " page for details)
• Children ages 9-12 who wish to audition for the Concert Choir must have participated for at least one year in the Children's Choir
• Tuition: $360 for the year (September-May).  Payment plans are available by contacting our Finance department at: (801) 642-0055

    Children's Choir

• Ages 8-12
• Open enrollment (although new member should be heard in an audition)
• Rehearsals held on Mondays from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
• Lighter performance schedule than the Concert Choir
• Tuition is $270 for the year (September-May).  Payment plans are available by contacting our Finance department at : (801) 642-0055

Policies and Procedures

• Attendance: Choir members must maintain consistent attendance at rehearsals in order to be eligible to sing in performances. Choir members may miss a maximum of two rehearsals during a semester (September to December or January to May). Choir members may attend extra "help sessions" held periodically each month (see calendar for specific dates and times) in order to make up absences at regular Monday rehearsals. Attendance at final rehearsals leading up to performances are mandatory. Choir members must make a year-long commitment to the choir.
• At-Home Practice: Choir members are expected to practice at home (with the aid of a customized practice CD included in tuition) in order to learn all of the required repertoire. As a guideline, choir members should expect to practice 10 minutes per day but may be asked to do more at the director's discretion .

Tuition and Fees

• Tuition is $360 for the Concert Choir and $270 for the Children's Choir.  Payment options are available by contacting our Finance department at (801) 642-0055 .
• Tuition includes music, practice CD, and other supplies needed.  There is no material fee
• Scholarships are available for talent merit and/or financial need. Scholarship applications can be submitted after an audition.
• New Concert Choir members should expect to pay $40-$80 for concert attire. Children's Choir members do not need to purchase any specific concert attire items, but will be given specific dress guidelines for performances.
• Concert Choir members are responsible for the full cost of tour (see " Tour 2011 " page for details).

Registration

• Click here to register for the American Heritage Youth Chorus. All continuing choir members need to fill out a new registration form. New members should wait until after their audition to register.
