Crystal Budge, Physics Crystal Budge's interest in science manifested itself early in the form of many childhood experiments such as jumping off taller and taller objects, playing with her father's welder, studying lightning bugs in captivity, and charting the progress of healing bruises. She survived long enough to graduate with a B.S. in Physics and a Mathematics minor from Brigham Young University, before working in biophysics laser and protein research at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, home of the atomic bomb (which she had nothing to do with, honest). After falling head over heels for the brilliant and handsome Matthew Budge, she found more adventure than she'd ever dreamed possible in building with him a family of six fire-breathing, homeschooled children. Matt's untimely death from a rare and rapid cancer put a serious crimp in everybody's plans, but families are forever- so the intrepid crew relocated from Texas to Utah and Crystal began teaching mathematics to middle schoolers while earning a Master's degree in Educational Leadership. She is delighted to bring her enthusiasm for science, for life, and especially for the miracle of the restored gospel to American Heritage School and its amazing families. __________________________________________________________________________ Date of Hire: 2010
