Nicole comes to American Heritage with a passion for distance running and life in general. She served as a team captain in both cross country and track while competing in many national meets (Foot Locker and Nike Cross Nationals.) She was a Gatorade athlete of the year three times for her outstanding athletic performances. In college, she developed lasting relationships with teammates through hours of weekly training and competitions. During her career at Brigham Young University (BYU), she was freshmen of the year in the Mountain West Region. She was also nationally ranked in the top 50 for the 10k. Currently, she runs for enjoyment, though many think this an oxymoron. Mrs. Lyons loves music. She started taking piano lessons in the second grade, and over the years, has participated in many festivals and competitions. Additionally, she has accompanied a variety of musical ensemble groups, including BYU’s University Chorale, as a performance-level pianist. Nicole enjoys hiking, camping, backpacking, fishing, and reading books with her fantastic new husband! She loves to learn and graduated BYU Magna Cuma Laude in elementary education. Mrs. Lyons looks forward to sharing her knowledge, experience, and love for running and life while coaching at American Heritage.
