Decia Andersen was born in Star Valley,
Wyoming and was raised on a dairy farm there.
Her parents instilled within her heart a deep love and appreci
ation for America and the freedoms we enjoy.
She graduated from Ricks College in 1984 with an Associate
degree in
Elementary Education.
Decia served a mission for the LDS Church in Chile and then
taught Spanish at the MTC.
She graduated from BYU in
S
pecial Education.
She
and her husband, Grant, are the parents of eight children
. Five are students at
American Heritage School.
She loves the Foundations of American Christian
Education method of teaching.
She taught history and literature using the FAC
E
curriculum at Founders Academy (a home school co
-
op).
She has loved American Heritage School
since she
first visited it in the old chapel in Pleasant Grove in
1994.
She is excited to
be teaching here, helping to
educate the hearts and mi
nds of God’s precious children.
