Bailey Savage loves teaching chemistry, sharing the gospel, and spending time outdoors with her husband and extended family. She received her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Brigham Young University. While there, she worked in the chemistry department as both a teaching assistant and a research assistant. She also received academic, research, and teaching awards for her work. Additional volunteering in chemistry classes at Provo High School and Heritage High School, as well as teaching at the Missionary Training Center, has honed her teaching skills. “Whether I’m working with high school students, college students, or missionaries, my focus is always to show them who they can become, and how they can apply a few basic principles to progress toward that ideal,” she says. “I have learned from teaching and from my own observation and experience that the most effective mentors inspire others first by being an outstanding example of what they teach, and second by coaching the fundamental skills or attributes they demonstrate.” Mrs. Savage served a mission in the Nebraska, Omaha Mission. She is delighted to share both her love of chemistry, and her passion for the gospel, as a chemistry teacher at American Heritage School.
