Mrs. Meade joined American Heritage School in 2011. She, her husband, and their five children relocated to Utah from Portland, Oregon, where she owned and directed for eleven years a private tutoring center for students from kindergarten through twelfth grade for literature, grammar, composition, and history. Prior to that, she had five years of teaching experience at the Carden School of Portland, Sylvan Learning Center (Oregon), Challenger School (Utah), and Tarboro High School (North Carolina). Having graduated magna cum laude from North Carolina State University in Political Science and Social Studies Education (1993), Mrs. Meade has a special love for history, and has earned several graduate credits toward a master's degree in history from Brigham Young University. Of seventh grade Mrs. Meade says, "I love teaching, and I especially love teaching middle school students; they are absolutely my favorite age group to
work with."
