American Heritage School has received an offer from Clearwire LLC, who plans to construct a cell tower in the close vicinity of the school – somewhere close to the school along 700 North. Clearwire proposes to construct this tower on the School premises. Such a tower would have the appearance and functionality of a flag pole (see pictures below). The proposal also includes lease payments to American Heritage School of approximately 10,000 per year for the next 40 years. If American Heritage School accepts this offer, those funds will be available for classroom uses such as technology, textbooks, and fieldtrips. If American Heritage School rejects the offer, Clearwire still plans to install a tower along 700 North. The American Heritage School administration values the input and opinions of the school community and invites the input of the School community regarding this opportunity.
